The 8th Annual Drukpa Council (ADC) – Meeting of the Drukpa Masters
This is an annual event where all the masters of the lineage from all parts of Himalayas and their followers would come together to revive some unique aspects of the Drukpa Lineage and share the 1000 over years old rich spiritual legacy with the world through the inspiration of teachings, initiations, oral transmissions, panel discussions and talks.

Grand Opening Ceremony of Naropa Festival with Display of Precious Relics and Teaching The 2nd Himalayan Heroes Award and Evening Concert in Tribute to Naropa
A set of ancient precious relics will be unveiled to grant sight liberation blessings to those present. His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, revered as the authentic incarnation of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Great Compassion, will impart his wisdom on how to deal with modern day challenges. The evening will begin with Drukpa Kung Fu Nuns displaying their drum beating skills and Dharma dance, followed by the 2nd Himalayan Heroes Award Presentation Ceremony, and a concert performed by the best of Himalayan and Bollywood artistes.

Public Display of Relics, Teaching, Panel Discussion “Incredible Ladakh” Fashion Show and Concert in Tribute to Naropa
The public will be provided an opportunity to pay homage to the precious relics in a mandala, in a close proximity, while His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa will continue to teach, followed by a panel discussion and dialogue. The evening will begin with “Incredible Ladakh”, a fashion show on unique Ladakhi traditional clothing and their different inspired variations, to be joined by celebrity showstoppers. A concert performed by the best of Himalayan and Bollywood artistes will close this day with colours, sounds and lights.

Unfurling of the Largest Silk Embroidered Brocade of Buddha Amitabha
Teaching and Concert In Tribute to Naropa
The largest silk embroidered brocade of Buddha Amitabha will be unfurled to mark the grand opening of Naropa 2016, the Millennial Anniversary Celebration. A concert performed by the best of Himalayan and Bollywood artistes will close this day with colours, sounds and lights.

Public Display of Relics, Teaching, Panel Discussion Archery Competition and Concert in Tribute to Naropa
The public will continue to queue for an opportunity to sight the holy relics in close proximity, as His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa and Drukpa masters give teaching. A traditional Ladakhi archery competition will also be taking place. Besides performances by devotees, a robust Bollywood concert will be joined with Ladakh’s favourite performers.

Grand Closing Ceremony with Guinness World Records Breaking Attempt Evening Concert In Tribute to Naropa
The Grand Closing Ceremony will begin with 100,000 Ganachakra Offering in the morning, followed a Guinness World Records breaking attempt and presentation of certificates and prizes. The evening will conclude with Bollywood artistes’ colourful performances in tribute to Naropa, along with artistes from Ladakh and Himalayas.
